Up And Down To Victory, is an autobiography written pseudonymously as the names have been changed in telling what is a real life story of a Black man living in the United States of America. The book is written to accentuate humanity and the presence of divine and demonic entities in the lives of Black people struggling to live in America.
The writer contends that we live in a composite world, a world where we are not alone. Up And Down To Victory is replete with testimonies; it testifies to the presence of Jesus Christ, and the working of the Holy Spirit in the writer’s everyday living and life. America is a crucible of ethnicity and culture, of right and wrong ideas and ways of life. The writer shares how the presence of Jesus Christ was always present in his struggle to live, learn, and find fulfillment.
Therefore, the writer reflects through lenses of grace, i.e., the grace that came to life in the death of Jesus Christ on the cross. The grace of Jesus Christ finds the writer over and over again saving, restoring, and renewing his will to live. The writer does not believe he would have survived had it not been for the Lord. And so, Up And Down To Victory advocates for forgiveness, for resilience, for courage, for humanity. Amid a life of corruption, confusion, and calamity; Up And Down To Victory puts the spot light on the salvation that came to life in Jesus, and the work of sanctification fostered by Holy Spirit.
Being Black in America is a journey, the roads are long and the dangers are without number. My story told by America will only address what happened and is happening on the surface. What is on the surface is simply not true; it is a lie that facilitates doctrines of chattel slavery, and the notion that Black people are not human beings. Whether good or bad, believable or not, the story is worth telling. The writer believes it is impossible to understand Black life in America absent spirituality. And so, Up And Down To Victory, is spiritual, truthful and historical.
Jesus Christ redeemed me from definite destruction, the abyss and Hades. Then the Lord asked me for my life, and I freely surrendered it to him. In obedience to the Lord, when he spoke, I said “yes Lord, here I am.” On one occasion he asked me to write my story, and I obeyed in writing, Up And Down To Victory. There’s a blessing for people on the pages of this book.
My life story is controversial, impactful, and worth sharing. It encourages, motivates, and gives rise to meaning and purpose that so often lays dormant in our lives. Growing up as an African American in the United States is a journey into trails, tribulation, and temptation. The pressure comes from everywhere; it attacks one’s resistance and will power.
The story will touch you in least expected ways. Read along as the writer keeps his eye on the light at the end of the road, as he travels the path of life, recognizing the victories, while walking through one mine field, only to be greeted by another. Up And Down To Victory, is a story that we are all too familiar with. Order your copy today!
